“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
My Child,
Lay down the burdens you carry,
they are far too heavy for you to bear alone.
None of the things you cling to in this life
will follow you beyond it.
Come to me empty of worldly possessions,
so that I may fill you
with an inheritance that is eternal.
Oh, my child,
I see your fear...
that letting go feels like losing control.
But trust in me,
for I will catch you.
I will hold you,
carry you,
and bring you to a place of nourishment
and assurance—
blessings that will unfold outwardly in time.
Come,
my precious child.
Leave behind your nets,
your striving,
your worries.
Reach for my certainty.
I will clothe you in my peace—
a wealth the world cannot comprehend.
Oh Lord,
I thank You for Your endless riches, not of gold or silver, but of love, peace, and eternal promise. I vow to seek only what is of You, to fix my mind on what is lasting, not on what fades away.
I am grateful for the daily bread You provide, and for the greater feast that awaits in Your kingdom.
Amen.
